EXPERIENCE
Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape Instructor
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in SERE subjects, such as, escape and evasion, map reading, land navigation, survival methods and techniques, resistance training and techniques to include classroom instruction and role play.
Able to provide detailed instruction, training scenarios, and dilemmas while “in role”.
Instructed students in the preparation of fish and game, plant identification, concealment, camouflage, evasion planning, air/sea/land ex-filtration, methods to resolve captive environments, cross cultural communications, escape planning, physical and psychological aspects of captivity, clandestine communication, resistance to exploitation, interrogation and the U.S. Military Code of Conduct.
Participated in the development and execution of training scenarios as well as developed and improved new and existing POI’s and Lesson Plans as required by the customer.
Maintained knowledge and skillset in individual and group resistance postures, techniques, and strategies.
Provided training on overt and covert communications and planning escapes in all captivity environments.
Instrumental in the instruction and qualification of over 4,200 SERE students at Fort Rucker, AL.
Army Short-Range Marksmanship Instructor
Became subject matter expert in fundamentals of Army short-range marksmanship skillsets utilizing the M-4 rifle and M-9 pistol.
Instructed SERE students in multiple combat techniques specific to isolated personnel in hostile environments.
Qualified to run break contact range, instructing SERE students on proper procedures for breaking contact with the enemy after experiencing an isolating event while returning fire.
Served as primary instructor designated to demonstrate break contact range procedures and safety precautions.
Instructed SERE students in “stress shoot” techniques, inducing severe stress on students while they perform basic marksmanship tasks.
Qualified in tower operations; responsible for range safety of seven SERE instructors and eighty students.
Instructed SERE students in proper shooting posture and techniques, including Weaver stance, three-step draw process, and proper breathing and reloading techniques.
Combat Search and Rescue Member
Awarded two Air Medals for combat operations while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Coordinated over 150 casualty evacuations while deployed to Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan.
Subject matter expert in the operation of the 7.62mm mini-gun and .50 caliber machine gun, alternate insertion and extraction procedures, aerial weapons employment techniques, and personnel recovery operations.
Responsible for isolated personnel authentication procedures in combat environments using ISOPREP information.
Received Combat Life Saver training and certification while deployed to Balad Air Base, Iraq.
Flew over 200 combat sorties in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
